πŸ’³ Ways to pay on Bidly

You pay the item price plus postage β€” there's no buyer fee. Here's every method, whether it's live today, and whether Bidly Buyer Protection covers it.

PayPal β€” straight to the seller

Available now

The main way to pay on Bidly. After you win a lot or use Buy It Now, add your delivery address on the item page, then pay the seller's PayPal link. The money goes directly to the seller, and they confirm the payment by hand β€” usually the same day.

  • Works for auctions, Buy It Now and live show lots.
  • Your address is only shared with that seller, for delivery.
  • Not covered by Buyer Protection β€” Bidly can't see the payment, so check the seller's rating and reviews before you buy.

Bank transfer β€” straight to the seller

By agreement with seller

After buying or winning an item, choose bank transfer on the item page. Agree with the seller first and request their bank details and reference in private chat. Never post bank details in public comments.

  • Check the recipient account name in your banking app before sending the full item and postage total.
  • Tap β€œI've paid the seller” after sending. The seller confirms only after the money arrives.
  • Not covered by Bidly Buyer Protection. Bidly cannot verify or reverse a bank transfer.

Pay on collection

Available now

Many sellers let you collect instead of paying postage. Pick a collection date on the item page, go and collect, and pay the seller in person however they prefer β€” cash, PayPal or bank transfer.

  • Free pickup: no postage charged when you choose collection.
  • The seller marks the order paid once they've handed the item over.
  • Not covered by Buyer Protection β€” you've seen and taken the item yourself, so there's nothing for Bidly to refund.

Card checkout through Bidly

Being switched on

Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Apple Pay or Google Pay, paid on Bidly's own secure checkout. This is the method covered by Bidly Buyer Protection β€” if the item doesn't arrive or isn't as described, we can refund you in full, postage included.

Real card payments stay unavailable until automatic seller payouts are ready and verified. Preview card tests use isolated test items only and never fulfil real purchases. For now, agree a bank transfer with the seller, use PayPal where added, or collection where offered.

If you're selling

  • Bidly takes 5% of the item price β€” never of postage β€” and only when the lot sells.
  • Bank transfer, PayPal and collection sales: you collect the money, then pass Bidly's 5% on. Your outstanding fees are listed on your fees page, and you mark each one paid once it's in.
  • Card sales: the fee comes off your payout automatically, once card checkout is live.
  • Live streaming shows cost nothing, and there's no listing fee.
